Hello! My name is Melissa Cooley and I would like to give some in-site on a wonderful affordable vacation my husband and I went on. In Nov. 05'my husband Roy and I got married, and at the time we were unable to go on a honeymoon due to job demand and financial status. In March 06' I spoke with a Valerie who is a travel agent with Site Scenic Travel, about taking a short vacation somewhere hot (not knowing where I truly wanted to go). What Valerie found, I wasn't aware could be done. She found an Apple Vacations 4 day, 3 night all inclusive stay at the Plaza Los Pelicanos Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that would not hurt our savings. I was instantly sold, my husband being a great penny pincher as most men are, took a little convincing ( me whining how I needed a vacation ASAP). A few days later we were off!!

I am not a lover of airplanes! I usually spend the next 3-4 hour ride staring nervoulsy out of the window or watching the flight attendants faces for any sign of trouble. This did not occur on this flight! The Apple charter staff was so friendly and attentive, and the breakfast they served was delicious! We arrived in Puerto Vallarta not knowing what to expect. I had my reservations because I had never been out of the country before. What I found was the people are so warm, work so hard to earn every dollar, and are very appreciative.

Upon arriving at the hotel we had a bit of a wait due to the 11am check in time, but that didn't matter! They took our bags up and we hit the open bar!! Being that we had been married a few months prior to getting to Plaza Los Pelicanos, Our travel agent had us upgraded to an ocean view honeymoon suite for no extra charge. All we had to do was provide our marriage certificate! The room was beautiful, brightly decorated, towels shaped like swans were placed on our bed with rose petals. The cleaning staff came every morning, or in 10 minutes upon request!

Everyday I would wake up at 6am ( I am Not a morning person), anxious to see what the day held. At 7am a buffet style breakfast was served in a beautiful open wall restaurant. You could have one the best omelets made right before your eyes with all the toppings you could possibly desire! Juice or coffee was brought to your table, and plates were removed by staff. All of the staff members we encountered worked so hard, and appreciated what they were given. You can't help but tip!

There were daily activities provided at the hotel, and by Apple Vacations so there was always something to do. There were 4 large pools, 3 were operating and jacuzzi was being worked on but that didn't stop the fun. The property was huge and you stepped onto the beach as soon as you walked off the steps of Plaza Los Pelicanos. Right around the corner form the hotel we found a travel planner that offered and 8hour boat cruise to the 5 surrounding islands. This trip included breakfast, lunch, open bar, snorkeling, a walk (or horseback ride for a small fee) up to a waterfall, on board dancing, all for $35USD! It was beyond believe how much fun we had for the price of a small Filet Mignon! The trip was also video tapped so we were able to buy a keepsake dvd of the adventure.

We encountered people from all walks of life, always something to do, service and food was amazing. We definately recieved what was more than our moneys worth in drinks, food and fun! I was told this was only a 3 star hotel, but judging the service, the food, the bar, the entertainment, the cleanliness of the rooms, the landscaping I give it a 5! I could go on forever about how much fun we had but I believe you should judge for yourself, because it is money well spent. I am definately going to be returning to Los Pelicanos hotel, in the fall of this year! Thanks Val for finding such a great place for us to visit!
